Would only give me an exchange!
Ended up with a cheque several weeks later from the CEO after wasting loads of time.
Will never shop there again after buying from them for many years.
No good will policy to return an item you purchased only a few days earlier. Only offer exchange or gift card!!! and to make matters worse, you can't even use the gift card online.
I purchased some trainers that were not right once I got them home, I wanted to change them for another I liked, however, they did not have the size in store but did online. They couldn't order them in for me, I couldn't do an exchange for the ones i wanted as didnt have size in, i couldn't get a refund, i could only get an exchange in store for something else (that I neither wanted or needed) or a gift card which is redundant as i cant use it online... in other words my money wasted... won't be shopping there again in a hurry!! very disappointed with their poor quality of service and customer care
I tried to return a pair of trainers to the store I bought them from just a week after purchase. Nothing wrong with them, my son found his lost pair just after i bought these, so they were not even taken off the box!
I was told that they DO NOT DO REFUNDS! They could only offer exchange or gift card. I had to take the gift card as I had no use of two same size pair of kid trainers.
Gift card is a cheap piece of paper! I bet I'll have to use it in one go and maybe add to it in order not to loose any money.
Ordered some stuff which Yodel lost. Sports direct dont even reply to emails. It was only through their facebook page and inboxing them there I was able to get a refund. Meanwhile they ignored 5 emails.
Yodel are a joke. Avoid them both completely
I ordered 4 items, of which only 3 were actually in the box i received and 1 of those 3 was the wrong item. You have to email them, which i did. I didnt receive a response then found out id been refunded 5.99 for the missing item, i emailed again saying i want the item. the response this time was i need to order it again (and thus paying postage again). They have made no effort regarding the wrong item after 3 emails it like they dont understand what the issue is.
Shocking, only ever shop instore (and check the item carefully) before you buy. Online purchases are a lottery.
Terrible, I ordered some items from the online store Sunday and chose 'Express Delivery'' It quoted 'Order before 7 Sunday and receive next day' Needless to say I did NOT receive my items the following Monday.
Tuesday, I received my items at around 11'o clock. I was very pleased and excited to try my items out.
Unfortunately I had fallen in love with the shoes I had ordered. I wanted to wear them immediately. upon putting the shoes on I (what I thought) had foolishly put the wrong shoe on the wrong foot.. No, they had sent me two right feet,
After realizing this I searched online to see if I could make a return in store as I didn't wish to pay another four pounds on top of the six I had already paid to receive the items. After reading that it was okay I promptly made my way to the closest store.
I arrived at the store half an hour after receiving my items ( A day late) And enquired about a return, then to be told I can NOT return or exchange these items I was there no longer than 5 minutes in total. Although this is seen as a 'Faulty return' I was told to return it online. Now, I work in a large store which takes alot of money and do a lot of returns, Many people come back with faulty returns which we process straight away. I was told by the staff that its my problem and its my job to send it back along with the returns slip.
Like I mentioned before, I work in a large store who process many items which are faulty we as a company ALWAYS return or exchange items that are faulty because it is the responsibility as a company and our job to fix this. I understand that the money they return or exchange may take money from their sales as a store but this is not my problem or worry to deal with.
This is a lot of hassle for something I had no control about and couldn't have affected the outcome of. A simple apology would have been nice, No sympathy here Just a 'On your way, do it yourself' attitude which I didn't come across as good customer service.
I will not be shopping in this store again. By refusing my faulty return you have lost my custom and my friends custom. For the matter of a Exchange you have lost alot more than you would have with the matter of my item.
Little fact for you, If a company provides Good customer service in a store they will tell one of their friends.. IF a customer receives BAD customer service they will Tell averagely ten of their friends, and if you're like me write a review for the whole of the internet to see for themselves.

Absolute rubbish. Steer clear.
On the first time of wearing the holes into which the buckle goes elongate and rip due to the poor quality of the material used on the uppers. They also have a ridge on the front of the sole that rubs under your toes, very uncomfortable.
Wore for less than one hour and then happily threw them into the rubbish. Could have made a comfier pair myself out of a bit of old rubber tyre and string!
It was removed by the moderator for supposedly: containing inappropriate or bad language.
Obviously the reviews on their site are filtered and anything that gives them less than 3 or 4 stars is deleted.
Do not trust them at all.

Same story. Mainly yodel. Just c**ts. If I am to lose £30 I can handle that, but the amount of time chasing calling, pissing about and delaying. That I can't handle. If you have had the sense to read this first, buy your sports stuff from anywhere other than sports world.
I received my order which was delivered to a house in the next street and the bag was torn open everything was wet and dirty, I have complained and followed the right procedure only to be given the following response:-

After checking on our system and the tracking for your parcel, it never collected any damaged scans, nor did it leave our warehouse in this state either as it would have been repackaged before being given to the courier. So any damage that occurred to the parcel was either done by the driver or by the people who took the item in. If you wish to make a complaint about the delivery then I suggest you get in contact with the courier service and not us.
I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused
FOR A START, I DONT KNOW WHO DELIVERED THE PARCEL!!!! what a response to get, really am fuming and will NEVER use them again.
Sports direct have some great items at brilliant prices but their returns policy lets them down badly for items ordered on line.
Although they have so many stores all over you cannot take an item which you ordered on line back to a store for a refund - you can only get a gift card or exchange and therefore have to pay the full cost of returning it to the warehouse if you just want a refund. This has certainly put me off ordering any more on line as the item I needed to return for a refund cost me £6.90 in postage.
Its so rare to get everything delivered as you ordered it. Every single time something wrong was delivered or plain just not there.
I dont think their dispatch team have a clue whats going on/cant speak english
I recently ordered a coat and a pair of boots for my mum for christmas, when I finally got the package from YODEL it had been tampered with, when i confronted the delivery driver he said thats how he received the package, I somewhat disagree with as I work for another delivery company and I know the difference between a tampered package and a damaged in transit looks like. Also there was an item missing from the package namely the Boots. I phoned Customer Services at SD to inform them what was happening between then dispatching the order and it being picked up by YODEL to deliver to the customer, its like they couldnt give a damn as long as they take your money, I have not yet received a FULL refund for their incompetence. I also will not be using them again as it is possibly the worst combination going.
When I made my first ever purchase from SportsDirect, I ordered a pair of shoes, but the buggy ordering system caused a duplicate order to be generated. Not a big issue but when it arrived the courier told me he sees this happen all the time, and so it seems that their system was deliberately buggy. When I later made a second order, they added a branded mug to my order without asking. The price wasnt bad, but adding things to my basket without asking me first is not acceptable.
I will never again use your company because of Yodel. You have to wait in to sign for the goods and they either don't turn up or claim they couldn't find your address. I am sick of their lies and excuses so I will not be purchasing any further items from yourselves. looking on the website for Yodel Reviews I am by no means in the minority with my views on this courier. Sorry Sports Direct as I believe your products to be good value and accurately described but the courier is letting you down and when your online sales plummet you may decide to do something about it, alas it may be too late to tempt your lost customers back. Sports Direct after 1000 of complaints about yodel why dont you change your services to Royal Mail, sometimes i find cheap things at Sports Direct but prefer to go prodirectsoccer to buy it because of the services, i prefer to pay more but have 100% sactisfaction, Yodel just makes your company look rubish. PLZ do something asap

I ordered a real madrid football kit 2013/2014 the top was fine but the shorts were old stock 2012 i had to pay 3pound to send back their mistake i then asked for an exchage for the right shorts to be given a refund!!!!w i will need to order the proper shorts and pay another 3.99 postage thats a total of 10.98 postage for THEIR MISTAKE!!!! Total rip off do not order from them.

My first ever order with Sports Direct has been a disaster. Ordered my goods and paid the extra for next day delivery. The goods were clothing so picking stock and dispatching could not have been simpler. Except they failed to despatch that day...and the day after. On the third day FINALLY the order was with the courier Yodel (the worst company in the UK) and was due to be delivered that day. By 8pm no sign of Yodel and my parcel. Checked the online tracking and it had been returned to the service centre! Yodel claim Sports Direct hadnt even despatched the parcel and the online tracking was an error. The next day I called Sports Direct (with a number given to me from Yodel - 0845 129 9200 option 2) and they said Yodel do have it. Called Yodel again and now they say they do have the parcel but cannot give me the number for the depot and cannot tell me if and when it will be delivered. I am still waiting and hoping it arrives. Massive fail for both Sports Direct and Yodel.
My husband bought our son Nike Hyper Venom football boots in August from the Chingford Store at a cost of £80. within a few weeks they started to smell the all to familiar cat piddle smell. The smell got worse after he wore them playing in a game in the rain. On the 21st October, I took them back to the store to be told that the smell was not coming from the boots and it only affected older versions of the boots from 5 years ago the T90's. I assured them that it was clearly coming form the boots and it was unbearable. They advised they could not do a refund or contact Nike on my behalf. I was not happy with this response and was told to make a complaint online.
I went on the website but was unable to make a complaint on it as this was for online orders only and I had to give an order number which I did not have. I evenutually found an e mail address for Customer Service and e mailed them. Over a week later they responded to again advise it was 5 years ago Nike had the problem and not now and I was the only one with this complaint and to contact Nike direct. Basically not their problem. Will never shop there again poor customer service with poorly trained rude staff.
Took my bike into the woodgreen store today.
Was told no bikes allowed. I said as I had seen people with bikes in there before why I can't just put my bike by the wall an just pick up my items, which I might add we're already at till waitin for a payment. To which the man picked up my bike attempting to take it outside well you can imagine my shock at this.to cut a long story short I had to call the police as the bike hit me they spoke to the member of staff. I will never shop there again
Bought a pair of walking boots, the lace catch broke off the minute they were tried on at home and then had to fight for a refund - first words from assistant before I had even explained the situation - "we cant give a refund"
Staff patronising and clearly a company policy to avoid refund at any cost.
Don't waste your money at this store if the purchase is important
As a loyal customer of Sports Direct (Falkirk Branch) I was appauled when I asked for one single shoe box to help aid The Shoe Box Appeal, a charity that collects shoe boxes filled with essentail items and a few small gift items for individuals living in extreme poverty throughout the world, to spread a sense of caring and bring joy to someones life at Christmass time, when they may recieve nothing else.
Upon enquiring about getting one shoe box, I was quickly dismissed and told I could not have a single shoe box.
For a bussiness that expects you to pay £79 for a single jacket, you would expect they wouldn't be as tight fisted as to refuse a simple cardboard box for a charity, yet here I am, still without a shoe box.
Might I add that Sports Direct makes an average annual profit of £105.6 million, and whos owner is worth £1.7 billion, it really does go to show the kind of company they run and the type of people they choose to work there.
I for one, will no longer be returning to this, nor any other branch of the company, until they change their stance on such issues.
I ordered two pairs of shoes on the 5th October, still not delivered I have emailed Sports Direct 4 times
and no response. Yodel is the courier and their status states no parcel delivered to them just the
paperwork. Customer Services are bunk and I will never purchase from this company again.
One star given only because I couldn't leave none...I ordered a pair of football boots for my son which went missing at the couriers depot (YODEL) .Sports Direct.com are refusing me a refund until it finds out what happened to the parcel. I am being made to pay for the incompetence of the courier. Pointed out to customer service that I hadn't received the service I was promised and so was entitled to a refund but was basically told 'hard luck, you're not getting one'.
Customer service treated me like a nuisance and never phoned me back when promised. Will never shop from there again and I strongly advise you not to either.
quite simply, i will never buy from sportsdirect again after they levied me for a rag of a magazine and what has to be the ugliest mug ever designed. it was the most expensive 2.40 sportsdirect ever earned and i know thousands more feel the same in the aftermath of the bbc watchdog program earlier this week. very unethical behaviour.
I bought some Karrimor items, convertible trousers, shorts t-shirts. Really poor quality and poor sizing; t-shirt far too small for the size, convertible trousers far too long, cheap feeling materials and finish. I returned all items at some considerable cost to myself with the promise of a full refund including £3.99 shipping. The refund for goods was prompt, but they did not refund the shipping costs nor did they reply to any of my emails. I give them one star for replying to my message via sportsdirect's facebook page and I did receive my refund this way, but I only suspect that was due to my campaign of negative comments to all their posts.
The shop also has a policy of not giving refunds even though they do not have fitting rooms in their stores - if it doesn't fit we'll give you a credit note or gift card! I'll pay more for my goods rather than shop here in future.
I went into a store to try on swimming costumes. The changing room is only separated from the shop floor by saloon type swing doors. I had a feeling that they were not secure but thought that I was being a bit over cautious and that surely privacy and personal security would have been considered. As I was completely undressed a customer walked by and he could easily see me over the door. He continued to stare so I picked up some clothes to protect myself from him but then realised that the full length mirror was facing the door so the passer by could now see me naked from the back.
The assistant said it was nothing to do with her. The manager said that they had glued the mirror on the wrong wall and that as he had no control of that nor where the changing room was situated and I needed to contact head office. I did this but got no response. The changing room and mirror as still in situ. I have reported it to the police but it would be hard to prove that the passer by was a deliberate peeping tom. Sports direct should not be allowed to get away with this disregard for women's safety. DO NOT USE this store.
Made an order and paid a little extra for next day delivery. Didn't show up, only then to receive an email claiming it was out of stock. I sent a direct email as well as posted on Facebook and Twitter asking for a refund, all of which have failed to be answered. I called them up only to keep getting cut off. This is by far the worst customer service I have EVER come across. They ruined my daughters birthday. They are very quick to take a persons money and then that is all, nothing but a scam
