Ordered sunglasses, received reply stating order received, then a few days later order being processed then a few days later order shipped requesting that I track it via TNT
TNT had no record of this tracking number. Returned to main smartbuyglasses website to trace order and it did not recognise my order reference entry. Tried to log into account and it did not recognise my login! I would never go near such a company again. Totally dysfunctional representation on the internet.
Having contacted Smartbuyglasses twice via their web contact form through the UK website twice over approximately two weeks since delivery requesting returns details both messages have been seemingly ignored and not replied to. I think two weeks is more than fair to expect a response and the experience has left me knowing I shall not be ordering through this company again or giving any recommendation.

I just bought new pair of Aviator sunglasses (Maui Jim Pilot) from smart buy and they were £50 cheaper than the manufacturer themselves and not only cheaper they came with cleaning cloths and cleaning liquid (might be small but its a free gift).......it doesn't end there.....the were also sent on the Monday and I received them on the Thursday. smiles all round!!!!
I ordered a new pair of prescription glasses for myself and my wife, she chose from smartbuyglasses I chose mine from a UK company (Toni & Guy) both were Ralph Lauren frames - the UK company advised a delay in sourcing my colour choice from the manufacturer but managed to deliver in 10 days the smartbuyglasses ones arrived after 18 business days (23 total) what is not obvious from the website is that smartbuyglasses is a Hong Kong based operation and needs to be a consideration when choosing suppliers
Once received & on trying them on it was obvious to my wife that the prescription was wrong making the glasses unwearable, to be fair to smartbuyglasses once informed they did offer to regrind a new lens ship out and reimburse the cost of a local optician fitting to the frame, but to expedite matters I asked a High St optician to check the lenses and the report showed that one of the parameters from the prescription had been omitted - I asked the optician to supply and fit new lenses to the glasses and invited SBG to reimburse the cost (£39) their reply was they would only reimburse the cost of the lens to a value of £25 ! at this point I have given up arguing for the sake of £14 - you need to think very carefully about using a remote operation to supply your glasses & the website is somewhat misleading & gives the impression of a UK operation which it is not & there are better local options available

1. Is this product authentic????
2. Why were we not told it came from Hong Kong (as well as everyone else on this forum)
3. WHY are the new prescription lenses WITHOUT the authinticty sticker? And WHY were we not told about this
4. WHY were we not consulted about the thickness of the prescription lenses being thicker (overlapping) on one side despite the fact we paid extra to avoid this
5. WHY when follow up continuously after waiting WEEKS for our order were we not answered? Had a general response (the same as others on this forum) I had to get the attention of this company via their facebook page!

I would use this site again. I was suspicious of the price that was about half that of a UK retail outlet but I believe they come direct from a wholesale warehouse. This is associated with the only drawback that the glasses took about a week to arrive but as I was told that on purchase it wasn't a problem for me and I was emailed (almost too regularly!) with the current status of the order. Very satisfied

I ordered a pair of Ray-Ban frames with Essilor prescription lenses early on a Wednesday morning, they were shipped from Hong Kong on the following Saturday morning and then made it to Manchester via Leipzig and East Midland airports very early on Monday morning.
The tracking information from DHL was excellent and they should have delivered the glasses the same day but unfortunately they were running very late due to heavy traffic. The glasses came the next day though and i'm delighted with them.
I'll be buying from SmartBuyGlasses UK again for some prescription sunglasses.

I was amazed at the speed of delivery of my Ray Ban sunglasses - especially as they were sent from one of Ray- Bans' bases in Hong Kong! 2 days after ordering on line, they were delivered and I was delighted with them.

I ordered some goggles from here that said "in stock" online. I then emailed a week later after hearing nothing else, only to be told that they were waiting to receive them from the supplier in another 5-11 days (very vague). So another week went by, so I emailed again. The same thing was said, so I asked to cancel (as I am shortly leaving the country and don't have time to wait around. I was then kindly suggested some alternatives (none even remotely similar and two at least £100 below my price range). I picked the goggles as they were a certain spec that I desired and the alternatives were none of these. When I said the word "cancel" they responded within the hour. So why, before this did it take a day or so more? They also didn't confirm my refund until I emailed them twice. They may aswell have chucked my money back at me. Overall, I am totally appalled. What a shocking service!
I ordered my Ray Bans two nights ago. The next morning - yesterday - I put my tracking number in, and was horrified to see my specs were coming from Hong Kong. I felt misled, because the SmartBuyGlasses website had stated it was the UKS LARGEST EYEWEAR BOUTIQUE. Cue frantic googling, with a sinking heart, to find out if SmartBuyGlasses were legit. I found mixed reviews, but my gut feeling was Id bought fake Ray Bans. Despite this, I then began to receive the best tracking feedback Ive ever had for an online order: 12 stages in all, from the time they got picked up and taken to Hong Kong airport to the final delivery today at 13.52. I also received two texts by fone. My only concern, when they arrived, was that they would be fake. I'd been googling Youtube, and learnt about the various tests for Ray Ban authenticity: the RB engraving must be embedded in the lens, so you can't feel it with your fingertip, etc. Mine passed muster on this and the other tests, and anyway, they just look and feel like the real thing (Ive owned a few Ray Bans over the years). I couldnt be happier, and apart from being misled about the Hong Kong connection - but lets face it, I wouldnt have bought from them if Id known - SmartBuyGlasses have absolutely come through for me.

So I purchased some rather nice Giorgio Armani AR 5004RT 3003 for a very good price of £162 inc free fast shipping.
My concern as with most perhaps is that these glasses were coming from Hong Kong. Are they fake, will they take weeks, what if the company does not communicate with me? These were my main concerns.
I sent 3 emails, each were replied to within 12hrs. Impressed. So I purchased the glasses (no prescription - just the frames) with the fast shipping method. Gulp. That was a Friday afternoon. Monday afternoon they were in my hands. On inspection, original genuine, real.
Perfect, fantastic service and peace of mind. I would definitely buy from this company again.
I was looking for a replacement set of frames when my son broke my glasses. I tried another internet provider who at first informed me that the glasses had to be imported from Italy and would take 2 weeks, which seemed ok. They never came and I was disappointed to go on a business trip with my backups instead! When I arrived back home I noticed that the other provider had taken payment for the glasses so I had to request a refund etc.
Then I found that SmartBuyGlasses had the same frames I needed at a very good price. These were ordered on a Wednesday and arrived at my house on Friday!!! The DHL tracking system made this process worry free as I was able to see they had been dispatched (all the way from Hong Kong to the UK) and I was surprised to see that they were on their way so quickly! Thanks SmartBuyGlasses.
My order was halted as SBG needed some more verification, which I sent immediately. I did not hear from them since. The money was deducted from my credit card account and I have sent several emails in order to find out about the status. Although an answer was promised within 24 hours, I did not get any feedback at all. Which is very disappointing and frustrating.
I guess I will have to cancel the payment with my credit card company, as the only feedback to my emails is silence. This is not the right way to succeed in customer satisfaction.
I was asked to sent additional information in order to complete the transaction. After sending it, I haven't heard a thing from SBG. Why don't you let me know whether the transaction is ok now and when I can receive my order. Come on, it is 2013..... not 1980. Where is your service?

I received a an order confirmation on 12 September for a pair od Ray Ban sun glasses. About a week after receiving an e-mail confirming dispatch I chased up as the glasses had not arrived, I was assured they were en route. A few days and e-mails later I asked for a full refund and and to cancel the order as nothing had arrived. I was offered a 5% discount and assured again that the glasses would be with me shortly. 2 weeks later they finally arrived on 11 October, as sold and in one piece. One of the worst on line purchase experiences I have had and would not use SmartBuyGlasses again, even if they were the cheapest option

I ordered a great pair of persol glasses 2 weeks ago.
The customer services team quickly responded to my request to change the shipping address, however actually letting me know where my order is has been a step too far for them.
Are they in financial trouble!?
I am starting to get worried.
Since making my issues vocal smartbuyglasses have reacted.
I think they should be more open with customers as to how they operate and explain their process.
The only pain I had was not feeling informed. If I had been shown an example of what is involved in getting my glasses I would have felt sooo much better.
A simple video explaining what is involved when you order from this company would go a long way...for example:
1. We order your frame from the supplier directly. We only buy from the official manufacturer and do not hold stock to keep the prices we offer you low.
2. We are based on Hong Kong. This means it may take 3-5 days for us to get your frames.
3. Once we receive the frames it takes 3-5 working days to do your lenses
4. Shipping is RAPID. DHL from Hong Kong to Watford in 36 hours.
Luckily they look good and I'm satisfied.
I ordered my sunglasses almost a month ago - i am now worried as i was advised at the beginning of last week that they will be with me by the end of last week - this is after being told prior that they were on route! When i ordered the website stated they were in stock - i was hoping to get some use before summer ends - well summer has now ended! I would not have ordered them if i had know it was to take this long. The website gives the impression that these glasses are coming from a UK supplier - in fact they are coming from somewhere overseas. I rechased the company again yesterday and as yet no reply. Its very frustrating that there is no phone number to call to try and get this resolved and actually speak to someone to gauge what is exactly happening
I have had many emails telling me that my order is on its way and will be with me soon. It has been over 2 weeks since my order was supposed to have been dispatched and I have still not received my order. I have asked for a full refund and am awaiting a reply.
After waiting for my glasses for over a month (which my husband ordered for me as a gift), Customer Service is unable to provide an estimated delivery date, so I have no idea when I can expect to receive the order. I am chasing customer service on a weekly basis for updates on my order status - I am surprised that THEY are not making an effort to contact me to provide status updates (I only receive updates after emailing them).
They have offered me to cancel my order for a full refund or to change my order to something else, however still claim that my order is in stock and that it is just delayed (due to what seems to be an unreliable supplier network as they are unable to provide estimated delivery times). Very disappointing experience and I will not shop with SmartBuyGlasses again again. All I want is to receive the specific item I ordered.

I orderedy specs online, fab website, and within five days they had arrived. Each step of the delivery process was communicated to me by email so I was aware of each step of the process.
My order came from Turin, Italy and arrived quicker than most things sent within the UK.
