ive used asda for online shopping afew times, and had bad experience with them all. first 2 times nearly all food had passed sell by date - then the third time I order and last time, I find half eaten spicy chicken wings that I didnt even order, it grossed me out so much that im now completely turned off shopping online for food
So I waited all day for my Asda delivery, the very first - and last - I have ever had. Or rather, hadn't. 1:30pm was the time I was given; it is now 10 past 10 at night and there is no sign of my shopping. I'm a student on a tight budget, so I was rather relying on this delivery actually turning up at some point today, as I have run out of food. Anyway, many phone calls were exchanged between myself and customer services. Each time I was told to phone back later because there wasn't anything they could do, but they would 'look into it'. One of the people who took my call said the driver put a note on my door because I was out; not only was there no such note, but my window, which I have been sitting at all day, overlooks the road and, surprise surprise, no Asda van has turned up. It told them about the impossibility of this happening, and the anecdote about the note on my door was not repeated by any of the other customer service employees. At least, to be fair, the last person I called told me that there was no use maintaining false hope about my order turning up because it probably won't at this point. But still, I don't think I've had a more stressful experience with online shopping, and I've dealt with some pretty dodgy sellers in the past.
Paid for 3 months delivery upfront, on to the third weekly shop and their is not a single delivery slot 2 days either side of my preferred date available! So basically i have to either have my groceries delivered 2 days later than usual or 2 days earlier! I thought asda was committed to cutting down on foods waste.... Not to mention the dreaded "substitutes" when the hell did tomato ketchup flavour become a sub for sour cream and onion? And thats just the beginning when it comes to subs (suppose its what happens when you hire minimum wage staff with zero job satisfaction). I think i will start to shop at sainsbury's in future they seem to have there customer service levels at least a few rungs higher than asda and tesco not to mention actual free delivery slots.
Ordered blinds for our house - 'delivery in 3 working days' 6 working days later no sign so I emailed 2 days later they called to say that the item ('in stock') on the website was actually out of stock and would not even reach their warehouse for nearly three weeks.
No offer to refund so much as the delivery charge. Customer services seemed baffled when I refused to accept what they offered (3 - 4 weeks delivery instead of 3 working days). Never, ever again.
Today I received my first online grocery shop delivered by Asda. After reading reviews online I was skeptical about the service I would receive. Maybe it depends on where you live in the UK and how good the deliveries are near you. I had 3 substitutions and all were well chosen and related to the original item I had ordered - for example a honey and ginger chicken noodle dish was subbed with a Chinese pork and chicken noodle dish. I paid for a 2 hour delivery slot and my order turned up within the first hour. The driver was very friendly and chatty and all my items I had ordered were present.
I was also really pleased to note that many of the ready meals and fresh items I ordered have a long sell by date - some will keep for up to 2 weeks! This is much better than my experience with Tesco, who often deliver food that needs to be eaten within one or two days of delivery.
I also found Asda had a lot of special offers and took advantage of these - the prices are great and the quality of the food is also good.
I will be using Asda again as delivery only cost £3 (£2 if you choose an all day delivery slot!)
I ordered from Asda home delivery to be delivered the day before christmas eve. When the shopping arrived 8 items were missing. It took me ages to get through to customer services who said they would refund the items - no cmpensation for me having to go out and get these items from elsewhere on Christmas Eve! Then when I opened the Asda soya milk it had gone sour and the foil was broken inside. I complained about this but despite being told my complaint was being escalated, I have heard nothing from them since. I will never use their home delivery service again. Beware!
BE VERY CAREFUL PRICES CHANGE AND YOUR CARD WILL BE CHARGED WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE WHEN YOU COLLECT YOUR SHOPPING , THERE ARE NO DATES AS TO PRODUCTS BEING ON OFFER OR PRICES CHANGING , I ORDER 5 BAGS OF SWEETS AT £1 PER BAG ON THE 18/02 WHEN I PICKED THEM UP ON THE 19/02 I HAD BEEN CHARGED £5 PER BAG , CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE PROMISED CALLS BACK THAT DONT HAPPEN WONT BE USING AGAIN
I received my grocery delivery at 6.45pm on Friday evening. Whilst unpacking I noticed that several items, totalling nearly £20, had not been delivered. At 7.30pm I made the first of MANY telephone calls to the very unhelpful & ineffective ASDA customer service - 7.30pm Friday - A polite customer service advisor apologised for the error. He said he would pass my details to the store who would contact me that evening to arrange delivery the next day ...... A CALL WAS NOT RECEIVED 9.30pm Friday - I called for the second time, again I spoke with a polite customer service advisor. This time I was advised that it was now too late for a return call from the store and that I would receive a call at 9am in the morning ...... AGAIN THIS CALL WAS NOT RECEIVED 10.00am Saturday - My third call to customer service, speaking to an equally polite and ineffective advisor. I was told that my call has been referred to the Home Delivery Manager at the Nuneaton store. He would be calling me ASAP to arrange delivery ...... YET AGAIN A CALL WAS NOT RECEIVED 4.45pm Saturday – My fourth call to customer services. This time I requested to speak with a manager .... apparently no managers were available! The advisor was very apologetic, he advised that he would contact the store straight away then call me back immediately with a delivery time. IT’S NOW 10PM ....... AND SUPRISE, SUPRISE ...... STILL NO CALL !!! This is the most utterly disgusting customer service I have ever received. I will contact ASDA again tomorrow morning, cancel the non-delivered items and demand a refund .... which is most likely a much easier solution for them and what they are hoping to achieve. Thank goodness Morrisons have started an online Grocery service. I purchase between £80 - £100 of groceries per week ...... Good Riddance Asda ........ Hello Morrisons!!!!!
I have been having the adsa diet coke now for a long time never had any problem until Wednesday I brought 8 bottles 4 in a pack and I was not happy at all because it was like drinking water I hope when I go to fetch some more this problem is sorted
All supermarkets offering home delivery services will use this to get rid of nearly out of date stock so be wary of this when ordering online. Where they offer a delivery instructions field insist that you don't want nearly out of date items or you will stop using the service. At the end of the day you wouldn't pick up nearly out of date items in-store so why should you accept these items especially as you're also paying a delivery charge for your convenience.
If you do receive nearly out of date items, then call and complain. I ordered 8x muller yoghurts as they were doing an offer and when they came I had 2 days in which to eat them! Not on.
Also, there will ALWAYS be items that they didn't have in stock. Make sure you check the items off the list when you start putting your shopping away, and VERY IMPORTANT check the amount is correct on your bank statement to the items delivered....NOT the price you originally thought you would be paying when you put your order through.
I've caught them out a couple of times with this....not acceptable!
Admittedly i havent used the delivery of groceries, im basing my review on an actual visit to my local Asda. They are easily the cheapest of the big supermarkets! They also have the largest selection so well done Asda!
Had my shopping delivered 6 days ago.driver asked me to sign for delivery before handing me one of the bags containing a completely smashed bottle of wine. He then stated he couldn't take it back as it had been signed for and I had to contact the store!!!! I called up and they said someone would call me back to arrange re delivery of the wine. I then opened the rest of the shopping to find a completely different birthday card to the one I had ordered , with a £2 sticker on (less than the one i ordered cost even though I had been charged for the one I ordered) so I waited for them to call about the wine to tell them about this. 3 days later I called back. I demanded a refund for both things and was told this would be processed the same day. I then received an email saying a refund of £2.50 had been processed for a 3 way adaptor. Called them again, asked to speak to a manager. The agent couldn't find any of my details, and I Was told someone would call me back within 2 hours to resolve the issue. That was yesterday. As I am writing this I am on hold after calling them back again , and have been on hold for the past 12 minutes. The service is disgusting, the training of these staff is clearly way below an acceptable standard, and I will never ever be shopping at asda again. It's worth paying the higher prices at tesco/sainsburys than using any services offered by asda. Absolutely disgusted.
I was on the verge of following other reviewers taking the decision to never shop at Asda again. This was until I was put through to a really polite and efficient Team Leader at Asda in Stevenage. I explained to her the problems, which involved a non delivery the previous evening, no contact or update, my 3 phone calls to the South African call centre and my dismay at being told that a refund will take 3 to 5 working days to complete. I calmy advised her that Asda management IN THE UK need to get their act together and that Asda are probably losing several customers a week. I do not blame the call centre staff. They have very little influence on what happens here. The drivers need to be firmly instructed to keep customers updated with delivery times and local store manager need to constantly monitor this. And if Tesco's can make refunds within 1 day, Asda should be able to do so as well. Well , I was offered an apology a £10 evoucher and my faith ( subject to successful delivery today!) has been restored. Vicky at Stevenage should be congratulated on her performance. She's saved Asda another cuistomer! Her managers on the other hand require a sharp kick up the backside! They are losing the company money...
SO two of my online grocery orders have been cancelled this week. I do online shopping for a good reason! So when my orders arent going to be delivered it puts me in a difficult position!! I rang the home delivery number and got put thro2 to some south african lady..on a crap phone line..could hardly hear a thing....and whom of which was pretty rude and not understanding of my situation. She kept repeatedly saying its a problem with ylur bank card...yet ive had ZERO problems with my card or bank with anyone else even on the same days as the orders!! So noooo. Its just ASDA...so I asked kindly whats going to be done immediately as my shop is supposed to be delivered TODAY and yet I got...."I will pass this onto our authorisation team,in the mean time......." ERMMMMMM STRAIGHT NO!! AS she had no idea on the time frame of when my case would be dealt with. So rude.
Just because ASDA is the cheapest for your groceries doesnt mean the best!!! NEVER EVER SHOPPING WITH ASDA EVER AGAIN!!!!
I see aload of complaints and comments on here yet I see no REPLIES!!!
I honestly am so tired dealing with them that I dont have the strength to write a big thing about it but lets just say that they are a nightmare to deal with.
(asda stores are okay and seem to be cheaper than tesco) so not a complete bash of wallmart company, but their online system is just not worth getting involved in, from items arriving opened, damaged broked etc, to orders being randomly cancelled or to asda taking my money and not giving me the item.. it is just endless. I hope eveyrone sees this trustpilot review but the thing is asda is a billion pound company so no one would think twice about ordering from them, but oh my would they be wrong!
We found some side tables we really loved so ordered two of them from Asda Direct. Received an email to tell us item had been dispatched but no delivery date, just vague information that it would be delivered by a date 3 weeks later! Not sure why it would take 3 weeks to deliver after dispatch ... Got a call from a delivery driver who said he'd be in the area the next day. Stayed at home but got a call in the morning to say they had forgotten to put the tables on the van! Ever since then I have made numerous phone calls to the call centre (in South Africa I believe), attempting to pin down a delivery date. First they told me it would be Friday 7th. I called the day before to check (note I never had ANY emails or calls of confirmation so kept having to call the awful call centre) only to be told it would NOT be delivered then. Again, more calls to try to get a new delivery date... frequently they insisted they would call me back but didn't. I tried to escalate it but they have a policy not to put you through to a manager, a manager is supposed to call you back but they never did! Eventually I spoke to someone who gave me a new delivery date of 11th Feb. I called the day before to check - this time it was all still on, though I was supposed to be getting a call from the supplier 24 hours before the delivery to confirm a time slot and this still hadn't happened yet. Suddenly the rules changed and I was told I'd get a call about the time slot ON the day of the delivery. What use is that?! So I stayed at home on 11th Feb. No call or delivery by 2pm, so I called the call centre AGAIN. Not able to confirm a time slot, but it would be today. Nothing by 6pm, so I made another call to the call centre, only to be told it would NOT be delivered that day! Absolutely atrocious. Asda need to take control of their suppliers and have a much better method for communicating delivery dates and times to their customers. We've cancelled our order now - gutted as I really wanted the tables but I just have no faith that we will ever get them, and I can't keep taking time off work. We have been waiting for a call from a manager to discuss compensation but they NEVER CALL. TERRIBLE systems, TERRIBLE suppliers. Sort it out, Asda!
I have always used Tesco for my grocery deliveries but thought I would give Asda a try as they tend to be a bit cheaper on some products. As a first time customer I was a bit wary. Placing the order online was fairly straight forward although I found that there were no expiry dates of when the offers expire compared to Tesco who warn you if any of the offers expire on the day of your delivery. I went ahead and placed the order anyway for delivery Friday evening between 6-8pm...it never arrived! Saturday morning I called the call centre which is based in South Africa which was a bit strange. I cancelled the order after having a moan and was assured that I would not be charged as the order was never delivered. They couldn't even give me a reason why it never turned up! I checked my bank account on the Monday and low and behold the money had been taken! I called the call centre again, had another moan and was further angered when the lady said I cancelled the order too late so would now have to wait 3-5 working days for the money to be returned to me! (the money came back to me on the Friday). I was not one bit impressed and would strongly advise anyone considering having their groceries delivered by Asda to not do it. Never again! I am now loyal to Tesco, never had a problem. Yes they might be a bit more money but I guess you get what you pay for, on time, polite, refunds next day
Do not under Any circumstances buy from Asda direct! The after sales service is the worse I have ever encountered! All the staff are in South Africa and they do not care one iota. Asda need to sort this or pull out of the Direct Side as it's giving Asda in general a terrible reputation. I will never, ever ever shop with them again EVER! And emailing the CEO Andy Clark makes no difference either, just get ignored! Says it all really, doesn't it!
I have been a home delivery customer of Asda for many years. In the last 4 years the service has completely gone to hell. Examples would be a raw chicken packed in the same bag as toilet cleaner, bacon packed in the same bag as cheese.....or even a cake. Not once but EVERY SINGLE TIME! Despite complaining to their customer service every TIME THEY DO THIS they cannot seem to comprehend what food hygiene is about. I even gave up ordering raw meat and any food eaten without cooking in the same order to get around this problem. Being told by the delivery driver (again) that 'it doesn't matter' that raw meat and cheese are packed into the same bag was the final straw. Finally I have had enough. I will spend my money elsewhere from now on....Not another penny for Asda!
I ordered some fence panels on the 2nd January and today the 11th February I rang to cancel the order after trawling through their site to find a customer services number. So many website don't actually want you to contact them, they throw up tons of FAQ's before allowing you to have their number when HELLO Ive paid for my goods Ive got a right to speak to someone if Ive not got it, especially after 6 weeks!
This site is just another Amazon and if I'd know that I wouldn't have ordered, when you order its just being routed to a supplier to despatch, they have no control over this when they should, it should be their responsibility to chase an order if it's not been despatched and not let me wait and chase them.
A joke and I wont be using their website ever again!
