Ordered some items in the store for home delivery. Ordered on the 29th and we are now the 6th and have still not received delivery. Have sent them several emails but no answer. They say they will answer after 48 hours but this is not true.
If someone from Argos will ever read this my order number is 94413463
Not being able to find what we were looking for in the catalogue, a young member of staff came over and asked if she could help. We told her what we were looking for, she went over to a computer typed it in, only one left she put it through for us. She then asked if there was anything else she could do for us which there wasn't. Her name is Abby and she is in the Warminster Wiltshire branch. It was lovely to be served by a cheerful member of staff, who asked if she could help instead of looking around for someone to help. Thank you Abby.
I placed an order on Monday evening for five items I paid for the items via paypal. The webpage told me that three items could be delivered by one person but the others would need two people to deliver (these items were a toy book and some tiny toy cars) When I got to the confirmation page it said that a problem had occurred, that someone would be in touch and there was no need to reorder. I never got the confirmation email, or any contact from Argos. On Tuesday afternoon I contacted them to find out if my order had been placed. The lady I spoke to could see my order, but only three items had been ordered and the other two were probably cancelled because there was no stock. Then when the items arrived one was a baby sling instead of a toy. Then noticed I was overcharged by £10. When I tried to contact them I was put on hold for 20 mins before they hung up on me! They then tried to tell me a product was ordered and sent to another address. They said it was nothing to do with them and i needed to contact Paypal. When I spoke to Paypal they said that wasn't possible.
All I can say is please don't buy your electronic items from Argos. Their customer service appears to have started off these days where Comet left off and we all know where Comet are now. I had a Google Nexus 7" tablet for two days before the screen cracked rendering the £150 unit useless. It hadn't been mishandled, the screen cracked whilst sitting on my bedside table whilst I slept. I took it back to Argos who immediately accused me of smashing it. I argued and eventually they relented and said they would send it to a company 20 miles away to assess how the damage happened. 4 weeks, and many, ,many phone calls later they eventually claimed that I had broken the screen by "twisting" the tablet and they wanted £172 to fix it! I've asked for it back so I can send it for an independent assessment and now they are claiming it's going to take several more weeks before they can return it. My next stop is citizens advice to report Argos for their intransigence over an item they sold me that clearly wasn't fit for purpose but In the meantime I plan to share my experience with as many people as possible so they can make the kind of informed choice I didn't have before making any expensive purchases - especially at this time of year (Christmas)
I would definitely not recommend argos as I ordered a mattress and when I ordered it there was no indication that it was low on stock or any problems as regard the delivery day then on the morning of the delivery I got a phone call from argos asking me my prefered redelivery day, when I asked him what he meant he said that I was left a message two days previous and they phoned to ask for another delivery date for one week later I was furious as I did not get the call and I thought letting me know two days prior to delivery was bad especially as I did not get the massage when I asked the assistant to have a manager phone me he said they would contact me back within 4 hours needless to say they did not phone me.I will never use argos again as they are unreliable and have no respect for their customers.

Beware! The Blackberry cellphones were advertised as being £99.However,upon further enquiry, one couldn't purchase a Blackberry without a £10 top-up,making the phone £109.The sales staff said they could only sell the phone with the top-up ,when I pointed out that they were advertised as being £99,they replied that to buy it for £99 you had to buy the top-up.I said that ,in effect ,the phone could only be purchased for £109 then.Yes,that is the case,I was told.So your advertisements should CLEARLY say £109 then I replied.I turned round, walked out the store.50 yds away,ASDA were selling same phone for £99,without having to buy anything else.I bought one. This is a disgraceful practice, and should be addressed by the OFT,who I have contacted regarding this issue.
I went to argos in Great Yarmouth market place for a buggy as my little girl could not walk no further bless her.
Only to find out the buggy I wanted for her wasn't in stock and only available for home delivery within 2-3 days...
I found this disgusting! The buggies they say they have in store wasn't there neither! Also the attitude from the woman whom might I add I know, was disgusting!!! We had to go to the argos extra to get the buggy only to fun it to small for little girl who is 3 years old but small as was very premature.
However on the upper hand we took it back the following day (after using it for 20 min to get home) and they asked nothing and give a refund.
Poor communication of policy and poor service/information upon delivery:
We ordered an Argos washer because they offer the delivery together with a recycling of the old washer at a charge of £8.99. There is one line of information on the product page after clicking through three different pages for different purposes you get the two whole pages of text within which it says:
Delivery of large Kitchen appliances
• Delivery, install and recycle - This usually takes 7-10 working days subject to stock availability and delivery location. Please ensure your old appliance is disconnected prior to your delivery.
For more details, please see our home delivery information page (Ed. which is the same page this was found on.)
Install and recycle is apparently not what they offer, since disconnecting a machine needs a PLUMBER. The guys that came to install were of the opinion that it would be no big deal for them to come back and pick it up another time, Argos would be in touch. Argos was not it touch, they reimbursed the 8.9£ without notifying me and left me with the old washer without followup. When I called they were unhelpful and uinwilling to hear what I had to say, despite feeling quite calm and clear about my feedback. All they needed to add is a sentence on the deliver confirmation email noting that a washer needs to be disconnected by a Plumber, instead, I am now stuck with my old washer, and without their advertised help in getting rid of it.
I ordered and paid for a cooker and fridge FIVE WEEKS AGO on 26th Oct online. The FIRST delivery date offered was 30th Nov, I was told items were in stock but this was first available date. TODAY.... 4 days before my delivery they call me to say that cooker is OUT OF STOCK!!!!!! customer services were a joke. Needless to say I cancelled my order and bought same items from currys and getting delivery this coming Friday. Thanks Currys......Get Stuffed Argos!!!!!!!!
They charge 12 pounds for late payment and extra pennies here and there , then if you don't pay that another charge of 12 pounds . I called to instruct them that I paid the previous statement but they claimed they never received it and had to charge me another 12 pounds for late payment plus 0.30 interest on normal plan. No the statement is 26.89 for charge of late payments then another charge on the charge of the late payment. Typical thieves. They deny receiving my payment which might have been lost in post and on top they are charging me again.
I bought an Xbox one which was delivered faulty. Now they cant give me another one because they are out of stock, which is fair, but they wont hold one for me when they restock so they tell me to go in every day and waste my petrol to check or call the 0845 number to check and waste my money doing so.so Ive checked every other day and when I do they say " sorry we just sold the last one, you will have to check back" im going in today and if they dont compensate me for my losses and troubles I may beat the service employee with the faulty xbox. Just be warned when they have your money thats all they need. They would rather take care of the next customer instead of the existing.
Well this is just to say a massive thank you to Christine Taylor manager at Argos call centre and Lewis stock manager at Argos Chesterfield. You were both so helpful. Pat on the back to you both. Hope all staff are like these two lovely people. I had a problem with an item and within less than an hour it was sorted.
DON’T TRUST THEM! They are advertising stock they don’t yet have!
I ordered the Kindle Fire HDX on 3 Nov 13 and selected a delivery date of 5 Nov 13. Did not arrive, even though I had an
E-mail stating the order had been picked? I rang the Cust Servs on 6th and she said having problems with this item from supplier, how can the order be picked then? I asked to cancel, but told to refused delivery whenever it did arrive (And she could not say when? Laughable or what!) Once ARGOS gets the item back, they will refund within 7 days…. Everyone is very sorry!, so am I!
13 Nov 13: Still awaiting a refund a FULL 7 days after cancellation ARGOS really need to get there house in order!
This is NOT the 1st time I have had problems with ARGOS on-line shopping, but it will be the last! ORDER AT YOUR OWN PERIL! I now need the £229.00 back, before I can buy from somewhere else! I give them an interest free loan of £229.00 and don’t even get offered compensation or a gift voucher (To order something else they don’t have!!).
I searched new bug electric swatter & dock charging for Sony Xperia Z & 1.8m USB cable & laptop table/stand & coin sorter & phone cases/belt & External Battery for mobiles but nothing there on Argos store or online don't have enough products.
Bad products, last year brought new Dreamland electric under blanket last year, now failed no heating anymore only 1 year old dead, I put number 6 still on but 10mins later still cold no warm in bed, I check watts meter socket stuck 4 watts. Avoid Argos.
That why I used most Amazon because got lots of things products TV, PC, tables, sofa, bed, electrical, DIY & anything & I can wait delivery arrive :-).
TV ordered online for next day delivery.
TV did not arrive so 13 wasted hours waiting.
I rang them the following day to cancel the order and ask for a refund.
They said the TV had been stolen from the delivery van and they would have to investigate before refunding. I really couldn't give a toss what they want to investigate. I have no TV and a wasted day.
Absolutely rubbish service.
I have opened a paypal dispute and will NEVER order from them again.
One of the stalwarts of the high street (not many left). Ive always trusted Argos and continue to use. Issue for me is the sale catalogue. Theres only about 5 items in the whole thing worth having, and as sure as eggs is eggs, it will be out of stock in the 5 nearest Argos's to your house. Ive done that so many times i rarely bother looking through the sales leaflets now.

Don't be fooled by offers, this is by far the worst company. Bought a TV and a stand from them, paid extra for a Saturday delivery and only the stand arrived with scratches. Called them to sort it out, waited 2 hours on phone to be told that they are sorry, not their fault, that I should have gone to pick it up, despite the fact that I am disabled and that the only thing they could do is to reschedule delivery for Monday. STAY AWAY.

Never had any problems buying or returning items in the store. We have excellent staff at our local Argos and will go out of their way to help. However, the online Argos is very poor. I only ordered stuff twice and twice they made major mistakes so I never use their online website. I think it boils down to staff and stores.
I had ordered a tumble dryer for collection as home delivery was NOT AVAILABLE! Paid for the tumble dryer instore and was then expecting help to get the goods to my car. The ARGOS staff weren't allowed to leave the store to help and so I had to borrow a TROLLEY do wheel the thing to my car. They asked for my bank card to hire the trolley! WTH!? When asked they said that customers were not bringing back the trolley. Here is an answer. Insure your staff in ARGOS Stores in shopping malls, so that they can offer GREAT customer service by HELPING customers with their heavy goods! That way you'd still have your trolley! Rediculous and disgusting service. I will not be using them again.

I have just received a sofa from Argos (paid £8 for delivery and had taken a week to arrive), when it arrived the legs were missing so the sofa is impossible to use. I phoned them, first they refused to do anything about it; after a 20minute conversation they told me that they will deliver a new one (another week later) and that they can't promise that it will have legs this time either!? So we now have to store an unusable sofa for a week waiting for another sofa that may not be functional either. Argos are a terrible company, with horrific customer service. Avoid using Argos, you are sure to be ripped off.

Suckered in again by a competitive price I ordered two 2013 lego advent calendars. They delivered two 2012 advent calendars and so began the fun and games. I phoned. Was told to wait in all day the calendars would be delivered and the wrong ones collected. I did no-one arrived. I phoned and was told that they had tried to phone me (they hadn't) and the calendars were out of stock. I would have to call back in two weeks when's hey had them in stock. In the meantime I noticed they continued to sell the ''2013" calendar online. I phoned back as requested and was told that the calendars would be ordered and I needed to wait in for another day for them to be delivered. Then I had a message left to say only one calendar would be delivered. To my surprise one calendar was delivered! Hurrah, progress made. I had to phone back again for the next calendar and was told they had no stock. I was understandably quite annoyed by this point and said instead of me keep calling perhaps they could sort this out for me, you know actually practice sort of the customer service that they purport to be. They did refund my delivery charge as hanging on the phone for twenty minutes at a time though no fault I my own, I complained about my phone bill. Then to my surprise a message was left a couple of days later saying the calendar would be delivered the following Monday and they would collect the incorrect calendars at the same time. So I waited in on the Monday, all day. Can you guess what happened? Go on! No-one turned up. I phoned today and they said it hadn't left the depot and I said I had enough, they'd won and I wanted a refund. I was told the refund amount and its wrong, I tried to tell the 'customer service' persons this and she wouldn't have it. I'll wait and see what is refunded but I know it'll be wrong and Ill have to call yet again and at my cost. They are supposed to be collecting the wrong calendars tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it. Don't use this company, it's not worth the amount of time it costs you in the long run. This is not the first time I have been through a debacle like this with Argos. But it is the last.
I bought a dishwasher from them in June. I noticed rust on the racks in July. I asked for these to be replaced. in August the incorrect ones were sent. I am told today that I now need to wait until at least November to see if they have stock
13 November: calling Argos again and am be given the proverbial run around. Not my department, cant authorise etc

Recently brought a blueray player on the strength of the features it claimed to have on their description.
Even asked a question on the website which they published which falsely claimed it had all smart apps.
Got it home and was disappointed to find out it did not have any of the apps they promised save 2 and they where very slow.
Dont reply to emails wont let you post negative reviews warning others
Awful awful service and to top it off they are not even that competitive with pricing.
Sort it out Argos !!!

I have been ordering from argos direct for a very long time and had loads of items delivered, and never had any problems with anything even when I have had to return large item such as a wall unit because it didn't go with my other things, I phone up and within 3 days they were back to collect it, the guys are very friendly when they get here and when there are large items there always happy to take them to the room I want,I'll carry on ordering online because its the easy way and getting delivered for a small price is worth it.. saves hugging large items..A no I do not work for argos...Iv just had no problems..
I bought a paper shredder from Argos. Got it home got it out of the carrier bag and discovered a 2 inch hole punched in the box, which they had stuck a bit of sellotape over. The counter staff at the time of purchase must have put the box with the hole side down on the counter so I couldn't see the hole. On opening the box the shredder wasn't even packed properly, the plastic bags were ripped and torn, basically it had just been chucked in the box. Worse was when I inspected the paper collector, it had a split in the plastic in the same position as the hole in the box. I'm totally disgusted with Argos for selling obviously returned/damaged stock... what if the plug had been damaged without me noticing and I had tried to plug it in? Argos will be a 'last resort' for me in the future.

I ordered a white bed for my 2 year old daughter via internet which was delivered on time but unfortunately the wrong colour. i had ordered white bed but the pink bed had been delivered. i refused to accept the delivery and immedietly phoned customer services who said that it was the supplier that had sent the wrong item and that unfortunetly would would have to wait another 3 weeks for delivery of correct item. After waiting 5 weeks i contacted them again and was told the item was no longer available and would have to pick something else again. This made me really mad as why was the payment taking if there was no stock and why wasnt i just initially told when i phoned up that the product was unavailable. This is disgusting customer service as my daughter had her heart set on that particular bed. I certainly will not be ordering from argos again.

i bought a TV and washing machine in july of this year, when i purchased them i was told at the shop in Burnley that i would receive £15 worth of vouchers through the post as i had spent in total over £400........still waiting 3 months on, i have had an email requesting feedback on the service which i have to say was very good, however i am still wanting my vouchers!!!
After having saved up for 4 months I finally had enough money to buy my boys some wardrobes for their new bedroom, I didn't want flat pack furniture as my husband and I don't have the time or energy after working all week and I wanted them to be perfect.
HOW WRONG WAS I !
The delivery driver turned up at 7.30am on 19.08.13 and moaned that my children were still asleep in the room so left the furniture at the top of the stairs and left.
As we unpacked the furniture we were happy with the first wardrobe even though I thought they would be more solid paying £300 each but the second wardrobe had a chunk out of the bottom and the delivery drivers had already left. I phoned the customer services on a 0845 number costing me more money only to be told they would replace part of the wardrobe, after telling them this was not acceptable they told me I would have to wait a week for a new one and the delivery would be on 28.08.13 ( yesterday) .
I had to take yet another day off work and when I unpacked the wardrobe the packaging had been stapled to the wood leaving a huge scratch mark on the front. Also the doors were not aligned properly and so I set about phoning AGAIN and was told if I kept the wardrobe they would give me £40.00 refund, which I refused as I paid £300 and now as I have no more days off until Christmas I have to wait until 21st September so it can be delivered on a Saturday !!! I am disgusted with the way I have been treated and still have no wardrobe and no compensation ! ARGOS I WOULD SUGGEST YOU GET NEW HANDY MEN AND DELIVERY DRIVERS AND I SIT AND WAIT FOR YET ANOTHER WARDROBE !! LETS HOPE ITS PERFECT SO I CAN FINALLY HAVE A COMPLETE NEW BEDROOM FOR MY CHILDREN.
My first order from Argos Home Delivery was last June when my partner and I moved into our own home together. We did this knowing that we would need to save to buy a lot of the furniture whilst we were there. So we bought our bed from another company which we had within the first week and had enough left over to order our couch. After scouring the internet, we found the desired couch on Argos' website. We promptly ordered it and had a waiting time of three weeks, which we had expected and were fine with. My father in law surprised us with a last minute trip to Barcelona and agreed to sit in on delivery day and receive the couch. So there he sat, 7am to 6pm (as the delivery notes stated) but no couch came. When we came back from our holiday we called Argos. Apparently the couch had been out of stock the whole time and even prior to my payment being made to a human on the phone. Long story short, after speaking to an abrupt, rude woman on the telephone, I received a full refund and found the couch on Gumtree from new at £100 less and received it the next day.
Move forward over a year. I am currently sat waiting for a set of weights (which I ordered Tuesday and paid an additional £3.00 for Saturday delivery between 7am and 6pm) which does not seem to be arriving. I tried to use the order tracker, but that isn't working at the moment. So I'm out of pocket just shy of £50, no sign of my purchase arriving and they've had the utter nerve to ask for £3.00 Saturday delivery (the exact words on the website). I am absolutely fuming. Argos, what are you playing at?
I recently ordered a playhouse for my son's 3rd birthday. It was given a 21day delivery so would come in plenty of time. However after a few weeks i rang to see when it would be delivered and was told to expect a call within 48hours. After 48hrs and no phone call i called them again. They apologised and told me they would chse up the supplier agin and i would get a call back in 48hrs. 48hrs later still no call. I called back and was given a £10 gift voucher. I said i did not want a voucher, i wanted the product i had ordered. They said they would chase it up again and i would be clled back in 48hours. The next day i got a call saying the item would be delivered on thursday. At 7pm on thursday still no playhouse. I then spoke to a manager at customer services who was very patronising and rude. He said there was nothing he could do till midday the next day. I called back first thing the next day to speak to someone else. I was again put onto another manager who was equally as rude. She called the supplier and told me i would not recieve a call till next tuesday as it was a bank holiday. She aid i had been given good service and they were very happy with the current supplier. She also said i was in the minority of people who complain! I ended up cancelling the order and was promised a refund ASAP. After discussion with them today they are now saying they will not issue a refund till the supplier (who is shut till tuesday) confirms the cancellation. I paid Argos, not the supplier! A total disgrace. My son now has no playhouse for his birthday and we have no refund to get him a replacement present! Will not ever use argos again!
